Release Day!

December 11, 2015 by Laird

Today marks the official release of two projects I’m proud to take part in. First up, The Gods of H.P. Lovecraft edited by Aaron French and including works by Adam Nevill, Jonathan Maberry, and Martha Wells.

My own story, “We Smoke the Northern Lights” is the first half of a novella, X’s for Eyes. The novella is essentially an expanded version of the the former story. Thanks to Aaron French and Chris Payne for publishing these books. Giveaway drawings for Gods and X’s continue at Goodreads

X’s For Eyes was great, Laird.

There definitely appears some sort of ethereal bridge forming between the Old Leech and Imago mythos. The sly winks and nods to past characters and lineages both great and small was brilliant.

I’ll toast a glass of Old No. 7 in your honour, Keep up the good work!

  2. William says:

X’s For Eyes – It’s like you took pulp heroes, Hardy Boys, Lovecraft’s Mythos, the X-files and probably other influences I’m not astute enough to recognize and put them in a blender. Fun read!

I’m happy that are more publishers that will publish shorter works like this today. Novella lenght tales seems to be coming more common.

Any chance we will see the two brothers again?

    • Laird says:

Doc Savage, The Shadow, and some of Howard’s detective fiction are reflected in there.

Yes, I’d like to progress them (the Tooms boys) through the decades into modern times.

  3. Josh B says:

Just read X’s For Eyes. So now you’re my favorite writer, bar none
All of the characters POP big time! Brilliant, not just one of your best, the best?

Also I ordered the Man with No Name in signed hardcover, cant wait for march.

Any new novels in the pipeline? Please I’m starving…

  4. Laird says:

Thanks, Josh. I’m working on a novel. New collection next fall. Should be another Tooms brothers adventure or two in 2016 if all goes well.
