The Weird Fiction Review is running “The Old Pageant” by Richard Gavin. This is a sample from the Lockhart & Steele anthology, The Children of Old Leech, out now.

Recently read The Old Pageant, and it rightly creeped me out. Gavin is swift.
Indeed–a love this tale.
Gavin creates such a fast sense of dread almost like getting caught in an unforeseen strong wave. The fear hits your stomach and panic crawls up your spine. I cant wait to read more-
Richard specializes in Blackwood/Machen-tinged horror. His collections are excellent.
